Making a List

I decided to make a list

of everything I'd miss

And it's too long

And too sad.

But I have to remember. These things that I need

To boil it down and cook it and shoot into the veins of my soul

So here goes.

The sunsets that are the colors of the trans flag

In autumn

When we all transition anyway

When we are taking care of kittens and puppies

And watch them grow up and raise them and teach them

I do not want to die

And when I raise those kittens and puppies they are lost and alone

After I die

They roam on the streets

Lost

Scared

Then I watch them die
